Carolina and Vinzenz
Theremin, Vocal and E-guitar
It's an harmonic occasion of quite a different kind when Carolina Eyck and Vinzenz Wieg make music together. With Theremin, Vocals and eletric guitar they're moving in the space between jazz, 20th century and modern classical music. Flowing seamlessly from prepared compositions and free improvisation, consonance and dissonance are born out of the moment. They are creating stories and moods in playful interaction, never losing the grasp of each other. Being primarily a chamber music ensemble their performances are brisk and nuanced without any safety net, providing a concert experience full of moments of intimacy.
The thereminist Carolina Eyck, known for her international engagements in the area of classical and contemporary music and the jazz guitar player Vinzenz Wieg met each other in summer 2011 in Leipzig and quickly discovered a common love for improvised music and complex sound structures, inspired by Messian, Ravel, Bach, contemporary jazz and popular music. Both being comprehensively trained and educated they kept on discovering new ways to play their respective instrument. Thanks to her developement of a new theremin-playing technique, Carolina Eyck is able to construct even the most difficult soundscapes on her widely unknown instrument. Vinzenz Wieg too has always been involved in enhancing the acoustic spectrum of the electrical guitar using effects, loops and unconventional methods of play.
In their collaboration they're fusing their individual skills and their character to form a symbiotic unity, creating a unique multi-layered music that seems to come from the air and is enrooted in the heart.

Carolina and Stefan
Theremin, Vocal and Organ
The organ - the queen of musical instruments - the theremin and vocals: Carolina Eyck and Stefan Kießling invite the audience into an open area of mood and sound. Powerful yet gentle, the music of both these instruments echoes through the halls of churches and concert halls, embracing the whole auditorium. Their program includes works specifically composed for this duo. The music of Daniel Kenntner vibrates between the grandeur of choir music and jazzy melodies. Thought-provoking pieces like “Fear Not” (Mattias Sköld) and contemporary pieces by Stefan Lienenkämper are often supplemented by impressive improvisations.
Stefan Kießling - organist
Stefan Kießling travels throughout Germany and Europe as concert organist, works as assistant organist at St Thomas church Leipzig and as organist and artistic director of an international concert line at the Klosterkirche Cottbus since 1999. Furthermore he worked as organist at the Braunschweig cathedral in 2008. His varied activities included work as teacher at the conservatory Cottbus as well as several recordings for broadcast and jury-membership in competitions. Born in Görlitz, his musical way led him through several stages in education of the organ and harpsichord to Leipzig, where he began to study organ with Stefan Johannes Bleicher in 2000. After lessons with Prof. Dr. Christoph Krummacher and Stefan Nusser, Stefan Kießling took his exam in 2005 in St. Nikolai church Leipzig. He attended a post-graduate study in Leipzig with Prof. Stefan Engels and finished in 2008.
